Abstract Organic Sculpture

Learning Intention:
I will compare and contrast organic, geometric and abstract shapes in my sculpture while also focusing on the contrast of texture vs. smooth. I will also explore the open spaces  (negative space) in my sculpture and cause/effect they have on my overall structure. 

Success Criteria:
  • 2 Planning Sketches
  • Sculpture is worked from a single form of clay
  • No more than two additive pieces to sculpture
  • Has both organic and geometric forms
  • Sculpture is ABSTRACT
  • There is a contrast of textured & smooth areas
  • Minimum of 6 inches tall (no taller than 12 inches)
  • Sculpture is hallowed out
  • I demonstrate self motivation.
  • I show commitment to good/clean craftsmanship.
