Art History Syllabus
Aims and objectives Art History: Over the course of a year students will learn the History of Art. Students will engage in classroom work on various two-dimensional and three-dimensional projects, independent research in their Process Journal, and supplementary resources i.e. textbook, videos, internet, and classroom critique. Through these experiences the student will begin to learn and understand the vocabulary and language of art, the Principles of Art and Design, Art History, functions of art, the people/cultures behind the art movements, IB global context and the IB Approaches to Learning. They will be expected to explore art and artistic theory while incorporating the IB Learner Profiles of Open-Minded, Inquirers, Caring, Knowledgeable, Thinkers, Principled, Communicators, Risk-Takers, Reflective and Balanced.
ALL coursework can be completed during class time and physical work must be submitted.
No digital work will be accepted except Comparative Studies.
