African Papier-Mâché Masks

Students will be using papier-mâché to create Africian-inspired masks. They will be creating them out of newspaper and adding decorative elements to enhance the mask. 

Learning Intention:
Students will be creating masks Inspired by African Culture using papier-mâché.


Success Criteria:
  • Two approved planning sketches
  • Masks have clearly defined features
  • Masks are fully covered in paint
  • Design is applied using paint and achieves a high level of detail
  • Student demonstrates self motivation
  • Shows commitment to good craftsmanship
  • Demonstrates motivation and independence
