Clay Lantern

​I will create a round lantern exploring the contrast of negative space and texture. I will compare and contrast the different stamps I have made on the overall composition of the piece. 

Success Criteria:

• Create 4 different textural stamps
  
• 5.5 inch tall cylinder with ¼ inch thick, even walls
  
• Smooth clay background
  
• Cylinder is properly sealed together at the seam (slip and score)
  
• Variety of textures created through the use of stamps
  
• Lantern has a variety of negative space openings (extra small, small, medium, large)
  
  • 4 large holes, 3 medium holes, 5 small holes, 15 extra small holes
