Wire Figure Sculpture

Picture
Learning Intention:
I will create a figure sculpture using wire based on the mathematical principles of the human body. My sculpture will be posed in the style of either Classical Greek or Roman sculpture. I will identify the cause and effect relationship that the materials have on my overall structure. I will also evaluate and critique my project throughout the process and at the completion.
Success Criteria:
  • Form is in proportion to classical measurements which were reviewed in class
  • Form is posed in a Classical Greek or Roman Style
  • Form demonstrates the idea of contrapposto
  • Form is complete and demonstrates a high level of craftsmanship
  • Form uses only two pieces of wire (one 30 inches, the second 14 inches)
  • 30 inch wire is used to create head, shoulders, hips, legs and feet in one solid piece (do not cut this wire)
  • 14 inch wire is used to create arms, shoulders and hands (do not cut the wire)
  • Commitment to good/clean craftsmanship
  • Demonstrate motivation and independence
